FAQs

What’s a better fit —group or private lessons?

It depends on your goals and learning style. Private lessons offer a more personalized experience, allowing you to progress at your own pace and focus on your specific needs. Group lessons are a great way to practice conversation, learn alongside others, and build confidence in a friendly, interactive setting.

How often will I have classes?

Group classes meet once a week, while private lessons can be scheduled once or twice a week, depending on your needs and availability. If you're working toward a specific goal or deadline, more intensive schedules are also possible. Some students even choose daily lessons for a short period to accelerate their progress.

Are classes in person or online?

All classes take place online and last 50 minutes. Lessons are taught live by an experienced instructor, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, practise speaking, and receive personalized feedback. No prerecorded lessons or apps here—just real interaction with a real teacher!

How are the classes structured?

Classes are interactive, with an emphasis on speaking, listening, and reading, while writing is generally reserved for homework. We'll use a variety of resources, including textbooks, videos, and authentic materials, to help you experience the language as it's used in everyday life. Whenever possible, we'll also incorporate immersive activities to bring the language and its culture to life!

What type of Spanish do you teach?

I teach standard Spanish, giving you the skills to communicate confidently throughout Latin America and Spain. We'll also explore regional differences in vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar, including the use of vosotros in Spain. As a native speaker from Argentina with family roots in Spain, I'm familiar with many of these variations and can tailor lessons to the places you plan to visit.

What ages do you teach?

I welcome students of all ages, from children aged 7 and up to teenagers and adults! Having taught students from kindergarten through Grade 12, as well as adult learners, I adapt my teaching approach to suit different ages, learning styles, and goals.

How long does it take to learn a language?

Learning a language takes time, but you'll be surprised by how much you can accomplish with regular classes and consistent practice. You'll gradually learn to greet people, ask questions, follow directions, and have everyday conversations. As your skills develop, you'll move from beginner to intermediate and beyond. The more time and effort you dedicate to learning, the more confident and comfortable you'll become!

Is it better to learn a language with an app or through traditional lessons?

Every bit of exposure helps when learning a new language. Textbooks, grammar exercises, apps, music, podcasts, books, and movies all have something to offer. The key is to combine these resources with regular opportunities to practice speaking and receive feedback from a teacher. Whether you're learning Spanish, French, or English, variety and consistency will help you make the most progress!
